Wendy at the LoomIn an era where textiles are largely produced by machine and/or third-world production weavers, the process of creating one-of-a-kind custom weavings by hand is truly an art form.

Hand weaving is alive and well in the studio of master weaver Wendy Bialek, where she fuses time-honored skills and craftsmanship with modern artistic vision. Her clients will tell you that Wendy weaves more than fiber in creating her custom woven art for interiors and wardrobes: Love, joy and intention are equally important ingredients that show unmistakably in her work.

Wendy is well known for her woven art in residential and commercial settings. Woven wall sculptures, unique window treatments, floor screens and throws with matching pillows are among her specialties for interiors.

This master weaver also creates wonderful wearable art that bestows a sense of magic, majesty and spiritual connection. Sedona Wraps (a series of flowing shawl styles), vests, jackets and ceremonial wear add warmth and style to any wardrobe.

Wendy’s passion for her work is reflected in her ability to intuitively transform raw thread into beautiful cloth. She expresses her commitment to quality and styling through the careful attention to detail in every stage of the creative process. Wendy combines her trademark sense of color, texture and pattern to weave diverse collections. She also often integrates wood, copper, glass and beads that set off the woven art.

Wendy’s mastery draws from over 30 years of experience in textile arts, including a B.A from Guilford College and a Masters in Education from Ohio University. She has always been inspired by the time-honored ancient traditions of artisans from cultures around the world. In turn, her unique works have graced dozens of exhibits, homes, offices, public spaces and wardrobes globally.

Custom commissions are Wendy’s specialty. Her greatest pleasure is to create unique woven art that serves the specific needs and desiresof each client — decorating home, office, sacred space and the Self.
